Joseph E. Filippetti
Associate Attorney
Joseph Filippetti is a former state prosecutor who now provides experienced and aggressive defense representation in the areas of operating under the influence, drug crimes, domestic violence, motor vehicle crimes, and juvenile delinquency matters. Having handled all stages of a criminal matter - from arraignment and motions through trial and probation violations - Attorney Filippetti is well equipped to advise his defense clients at every stage of the proceeding.
With experience on both sides of the courtroom, Joe knows the criminal court system in and out, and has the advantage of knowing how prosecutors are going to play their hand in court. As the Worcester and Central Massachusetts leader of our OUI and drug crimes defense unit, Attorney Filippetti analyzes the legality of every stop, seizure, and search leading to the arrest. He handles both first offense and repeat offender OUI-Liquor and drug cases involving possession, distribution, and trafficking and puts on a bullet-proof defense whether the alleged drug was oxycodone, cocaine, cannabis, or methamphetamine.
Recognized as a go-to authority in several areas of criminal law defense, Mr. Filippetti has also written for legal publications, appeared on television programs, and served as a member of the adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts School of Law. As an adjunct professor, he has served as a coach of the school's highly successful Black Law Student Association's Mock Trial Team which has place nationally three of the past five years.
Attorney Filippetti is a graduate of Anna Maria College where he played soccer and baseball, and his JD in 2004 from the Massachusetts School of Law. He is licensed to practice in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. |
